Glasa Wind Farm

Coriolis Energy and ESB are bringing forward plans to develop a wind farm, located in Ross-shire, on an area of moorland within the Strathvaich and Kildermorie Estates, approximately 20km northwest of Dingwall.

Assel Valley Wind Farm, South Ayrshire, developed by Coriolis Energy

Welcome to Glasa Wind Farm

Glasa Wind Farm is currently in the formative stage of development, with initial assessments indicating the site has the potential to support a capacity of approximately 189MW.

Our next step is to submit a Scoping Opinion Request to the Scottish Government’s Energy Consents Unit (ECU) in late March 2025, allowing us to gather detailed feedback on environmental considerations that will ultimately shape the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).

We are currently gathering information to inform the design of the proposed wind farm, as well as engaging in discussions with local stakeholders, to help shape and inform the final application for consent. On the 27th November 2024, we met with the Highland Council and had productive initial discussions, and we look forward to continual engagement throughout the process.

We are committed to working closely with the local community to design a wind farm project that delivers, meaningful, lasting benefits for everyone in the area.

The Glasa Wind Farm project will establish a substantial community benefit fund, bringing direct investment to the local community and creating job opportunities. Coriolis Energy and ESB are dedicated to sourcing as many components, materials, services, and supplies as possible from within the local and neighbouring authorities, ensuring that economic benefits stay close to home.

Our goals include prioritising the hiring of local site operatives and staff, helping to build a skilled workforce that can grow with the project.

We want to work in partnership with the local community to design a project which could bring a variety of direct benefits to the community.

Opportunities for Local Businesses

Coriolis Energy and ESB are committed to creating financial and employment opportunities for local businesses during both the construction and the operational phases of Glasa Wind Farm. Should the project proceed, the Glasa site will generate various opportunities for local businesses and service providers, such as accommodation providers, equipment hire companies, fencing contractors, tradespeople and plant operators.

If you represent a local business and are interested in future opportunities with Glasa Wind Farm, please reach out to us. We will register your interest and keep you informed about relevant developments and openings as the project progresses.
